EDWARD FRISBIE OF BRANFORD, CONN., AND HIS DESCENDANTS

1. Edward1 Frisbie was one of the earliest planters of Branford, having come there before 1645, in which year his name appears in the list of those who entered their names for lots. He married Hannah _______ who joined the church in 1687/8. He died May 10, 1690.

2. John2 Frisbie (Edward1), married, Dec. 2, 1674, Ruth, daughter of Rev. John Bowers. She joined the church Mar. 7, 1687/8 and died Apr. 26, 1736. She married second, William Hoadley, who died Nov., 1709. John Frisbie was Branford's representative in the General Assembly in May, 1690, and May and Oct., 1692.

4. Samuel 2 Frisbie (Edward 1), of Stratford, married Rebecca ______. She married second, ______Tyler. Samuel Frisbie's estate, Nov. 17, 1681, was inventoried at 117.11.9 pounds. In the County Court Records there is an obscure entry stating that Rebecca Frisbie, widow of Samuel, acknowledged to have received of her father-in-law John Rose her full portion.
5. Jonathan2 Frisbie (Edward1), of Branford, Married Mary _____. She married second, in 1697,___
Derby, or Darley. Jonathan Frisbie joined the church in Nov., 1688. He was allowed by the County Court to keep an ordinary at Branford in 1693, which tavern was kept by his widow after his death.

i Lydia, b. June 1, 1698; m. in 1720, Samuel Hoadley of Branford, who d. Feb.2, 1756. She d. Feb. 6, 1759.
ii Josiah, b. Dec. 22, 1700; A.B. Yale, 1722; d. 1736; m. ____ who d. Sept. 16, 1736; no children. He lived at Branford, and was invited to preach 3 months at North Guilford, in Jan. 1724.
15. iii Caleb, b. May 22, 1703; d. Aug. 5, 1772
iv Abraham, b. July 4, 1705. He was called in his father's will, Mar. 24, 1730, excessive riotous and prodigal and was given "two jades or horsekind," a gun, and 5 shillings, as his portion

Again to the Syracuse Public Library. I searched the periodicals for information. Here is what I found.
In "Families of Ancient New Haven " LC76 N45 Bj from the locked case, page 626 gives the wife of Edward Frisbie as Hannah [? Culpepper] and his son Jonathan's wife was Mary the daughter of William Hoadley.
